How CZ.NIC auctions work
CZ.NIC is the registry for the Czech Republic's .cz ccTLD. Through the Domain Browser (domenovyprohlizec.cz), it auctions the priority right to register a name whose registration has ended. The winner still has to pay CZ.NIC for that right and then register the domain with a chosen registrar.
Auction flow in short:

Advance list. Names due for auction appear in Future Auctions 15 days before start.

Daily window. Auctions run from 12:00 to 21:00 (CZ.NIC timezone).

Late-bid extensions. A bid in the last 5 minutes adds another 5 minutes from the last bid, until 09:00 the next day at most.

Starting price. 100 CZK including VAT.

Manual bids or max limits. Buyers can bid a set amount or set a maximum limit; the system auto-bids in minimum steps up to that limit.

No prepaid stake to join. Payment is due after a win (see settlement below).

Settlement. Pay within 7 days of auction end, then register within 14 days of payment receipt under the same contact ID used in the auction.
Who can bid
Participation is limited to:

Natural persons in the Czech Republic / EU with a MojeID contact verified for electronic identification at assurance level "substantial".

Natural persons in the EU with an eIDAS electronic identity at the same assurance level, linked to a .cz registry contact.

Legal entities with a validated MojeID contact.

Non-EU persons only through an EU-based representative who meets the rules above.
Default caps without a special deposit: watch up to 100 auctions and stay active in up to 50. A 100,000 CZK deposit lifts those caps; it is returned on request after any unpaid contractual penalties are deducted, and it is not applied to winning prices.
Bid increments (CZK)
To raise the current offer, the next bid must clear the current price by at least:

What happens after the auction

Highest bid wins the priority right (ties favor the earlier limit or bid).

Pay CZ.NIC within 7 days of auction end for the winning price.

Register within 14 days of payment receipt through a designated registrar, using the same contact identifier as in the auction.

Budget separately for the registrar's registration fee; it is outside the auction price.
-
No bids: the name is released for ordinary registration after close.

Failed payment or unused right: the name may return to the auction list up to four more times. Non-payment can trigger a contractual penalty equal to the unpaid price (minimum 1,000 CZK).

Paying for the priority right without completing registration does not create a refund claim under the Auction Rules.
