The table above lists current Sav.com auction inventory. Use the guide below for proxy bidding, soft close, Expired / Customer / Dropped types, payment and fee rules, and how to shortlist with history and link signals.
Sav.com runs timed domain auctions on its registrar marketplace. Inventory mixes registrar Expired lots, seller (Customer) auctions, and Dropped / backorder-resolution auctions. Related tools on the same platform include fixed-price Buy Now listings and no-fee backorders.
Auction flow in short (How Auctions Work, updated 03/03/2026):
-
Payment method on file. Sav may authorize the card or method on each bid.
-
Run time. Auctions open for 1 to 30 calendar days.
-
Proxy maximums. Bid above the minimum required amount; Sav raises only as needed up to the ceiling.
-
Soft close. A bid in the last 5 minutes leaves 5 minutes remaining from that bid. No hard stop while late bids continue.
-
Immediate charge on win. Failed charge puts the domain in cart; clear payment within 24 hours or risk a bidding restriction.
Listing types: Expired, Customer, Dropped
Karma.Domains maps Sav's API type into three filters used across the app:
Expired
Sav registrar names that entered the expiration path. Marketplace terms allow listing from the expiry date, but ownership does not finalize until 30 days after expiry. The prior registrant may reclaim during redemption; a reclaim triggers a full refund. Winning prices include a one-year renewal from the original expiry date. Budget the separate auction fee Sav adds for renew/transfer plus that year of registration.
Customer
Seller-listed marketplace auctions (user inventory). Sellers can also use fixed Buy Now on the Sav marketplace. Seller commission on completed marketplace sales is marketed at about 4%, with optional Afternic / Sedo Fast Transfer exposure.
Dropped
Drop and backorder-resolution auctions. When several users backorder the same deleting name and Sav catches it, marketing copy describes a short public auction (about 4 days) that starts near the backorder or registration cost. Anyone can bid; the highest bidder wins.
Fixed-price marketplace purchases sit beside auctions on Sav. Backorders can be placed with no placement fee on Sav's marketed TLD set; a sole successful catch bills at registration cost.
Fees after winning
-
Winning bid charged immediately when possible.
-
Off-Sav names: additional auction fee for inbound transfer and a 1-year lifecycle extension. Transfer into the buyer account may take up to 15 days and can fail under marketplace terms.
-
Expired lots: additional auction fee for renew/transfer and a 1-year extension; renewal dating follows the original expiry, and final delivery waits out the 30-day post-expiry window when reclaim is still possible.
-
Failed payment: domain moved to cart; 24-hour window to complete payment or face new-bid restrictions.
-
High-ticket deals: Sav may require irreversible payment methods such as wire above about $1,000, and may route some deals through third-party escrow.
What the table above shows
The table surfaces live Sav.com auctions and overlays history and link-quality signals. Typical columns include Source (Sav.com), Bids, Current Price, End Time, plus type metadata (Expired / Customer / Dropped) when present:
-
Karma Score (0-100): Wayback-based cleanliness. Spam eras, doorway patterns, and hard topic flips lower the score.
-
Majestic TF/CF, Moz DA / Spam Score, BL, RD: third-party link metrics for fast triage.
-
Similarweb Traffic (when available): directional visibility only.
-
Wayback Age, Wayback Langs, Categories: age, language footprint, and topical fit.
Workflow: shortlist by Karma Score and link columns, confirm type and end time on Sav, then place a proxy bid (or open Buy Now / backorder flows when that is the path).
-
Open Wayback snapshots across years; skip pharma, casino, piracy eras, and odd redirect chains.
-
Check referring pages, beyond DA/TF scores alone.
-
For Expired lots, price in reclaim risk until day 30 after expiry and confirm the included renewal start date.
-
Budget total cost: winning bid + transfer/renewal auction fee + any wire or escrow path Sav requires.
-
Screen trademarks before chasing a Dropped or Customer name with rising bids.
-
Confirm payment method will clear on first charge so the 24-hour cart path is not needed.
How Karma.Domains helps with Sav.com
Sav publishes Expired, Customer, and Dropped auctions on overlapping clocks. Sorting by end time or bid count alone still leaves content history hard to judge at speed.
Karma.Domains aggregates Sav.com auction data on an hourly cadence and adds:
-
Wayback analysis and Karma Score for content-history triage.
-
Side-by-side link metrics (Majestic, Moz, and related fields where available).
-
Listing metadata: current bid, bid count, end time, and type (dropped / customer / expired).
Filter for clean candidates here, then continue on Sav.com to bid, Buy Now, or place a backorder.
Quick buyer's checklist
-
Payment method on file and ready for per-bid authorization.
-
Auction type clear: Expired, Customer, or Dropped.
-
Soft close understood (5-minute reset, no hard stop).
-
Proxy ceiling set with room for transfer/renewal auction fees.
-
Karma Score and Wayback history look clean and on-topic.
-
For Expired: 30-day finality / reclaim refund path accepted.
-
Funds ready for immediate charge or 24-hour cart clearance.
Bottom line: Sav.com auctions are timed sales with proxy bidding, 5-minute / 5-minute soft close, 1 to 30 day runtimes, immediate charge with a 24-hour cart fallback, and three Karma types (Expired, Customer, Dropped). Expired lots stay reclaimable for 30 days after expiry with a full refund if the prior registrant recovers the name. Use the hourly table above to filter by Karma Score and link signals, then bid on Sav only after type, fee stack, and payment timing are clear.
