Entry bids vs live auctions
Entry bid (pending Drop)
Shows interest and queues WHC for that name at Drop. If you are alone and WHC wins the race, the entry amount is what you pay (registration year included). Entry bids are not charged when placed. Higher entries before Drop can raise priority in WHC's internal catch ordering.
Karma.Domains may show these pending rows as backorder-style WHC listings with C$ pricing.
Live multi-bidder auction
Starts after Drop when WHC secured a name that had more than one entry. Anyone who entered is in automatically; others can join before close. Opening high bid is the highest entry; equal entries prefer the earlier submission.
